About the European Green Deal
The European Green Deal provides the basis for a set of transformative policies across Europe’s economy and society, as well as the revision and update of a range of strategies and instruments already in place to make them fit for progressing towards the objective of climate neutrality by 2050. To achieve the ambitious objectives, the European Green Deal includes a variety of elements: clean and affordable energy; zero pollution; resource-efficient building and renovation; the preservation and restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity; a healthy and environmentally friendly food system (‘Farm to Fork’); and sustainable and smart mobility.
Projects
The European Green Deal projects are mobilising the EU research and innovation community to develop solutions that respond to the climate crisis, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, provide more protection to Europe’s biodiversity and habitats under threat, and accelerate a sustainable socio-economic recovery, leaving no one behind. Over €1 billion is being invested in 73 projects that will contribute to accelerating a just and sustainable transition to a climate-neutral Europe by 2050.
